Experts said the other day, the next few years, India rubber consumption is expected to continue growing, driven by growth in demand for the auto industry.
All India Rubber Industry Association, director of YSLathia rubber in a summit that he expected an annual growth rate of India rubber consumption in at least 10% to 12%.
Lathia said: "We expected to rubber consumption will continue to grow, as the auto industry sector for at least a year increased 10% to 15%."
International Rubber Research Group (IRSG) said that in 2005 India is the world's fourth largest rubber consuming countries, consumption reached 1,000,000 tons, close to the world's total consumption of about 5%.
1996 rubber consumption in India is only 700,000 tons.
Industry officials said that because of limited area of rubber cultivation in India, which means that India needs to import more from other countries rubber.
