Rubber prices pushed up the cost of tires

As the price of natural rubber in the past 18 months doubled up, drivers around the city noted that the cost of replacement tires have been on the rise.

Thailand in May of the wet weather affected rubber production, rubber prices rose to 25 points higher. Thailand accounts for the world's rubber exports by 40%.

However, China is also helping push up the price of rubber. China's rapidly growing auto market, making it the world's largest rubber consuming country, accounting for one-fifth of global demand. This year China's car sales will increase by 10-15 percent.
