Thailand to be the next six months to cut rubber production 50%

The world's largest rubber producers - Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture Monday said that in order to protect the price of rubber, Thailand from October 2008 start of the next 6 months, the reduction of 700,000 tons of rubber production.

Saenkaew said that the Thai government's goal is to reduce the 25-year-old more than a year old trees covering an area of 64,000 hectares at present to 32,000 ha per year. The Thai government to encourage farmers planting new trees and tree felling.

Saenkaew said that as a reduction in the supply of rubber part of the plan, from October 2008 to March 2009, Thailand will also reduce the domestic spot rubber trading center of the trading day. Day trading is expected to reduce the 2-3 days a week, in response to the drop in supply.
