Thailand: Thailand need to improve the quality of rubber and productivity in order to maintain exports to China

Thailand Trade Negotiations Department of Commerce Secretary Chu Yala Pa Dima Wen pointed out that a few days ago, Thailand wants to maintain China's largest supplier of rubber, rubber manufacturers need to improve product quality and productivity.

At present, China is the world's largest importer of rubber, rubber imports in the first half of 2006 amounted to 700,000 tons, Thai rubber exports in the same period the total amount of 1,400,000 tons, of which China's exports of 300,000 tons, while Indonesia and Malaysia's rubber exports to China Volume of 217,000 tons and 158,000 tons.

Wenyalapa said that in 2010 Thai rubber exports is expected to reach capacity of 2,600,000 tons. Although Thailand is China's largest supplier of rubber, but if Malaysia and Indonesia to provide better quality rubber, China is likely to shift imports from the two countries.
